My Mind and My Heart 9/04/2016

It’s been nearly 8 or so months since I last wrote something under this topic! Yikes! But, I’ve changed quite considerably, it seems. Even though I’m still the Queen of Procrastination and one who finds keeping consistent to be a bit of a challenge, I’m definitely still a new person, compared to who I had been way back when. However, I am still working on improving those two flaws. It’s okay, though! Everyone just needs some time learning how to work their lives out, and there’s no limit to it.

I’ve discovered so many great things in the past few months, including books, anime, and whatnot. I’m just all over the place, aren’t I? But it doesn’t detract from who I am as a person, because it’s a part of who I am! Let’s get into it, shall we?

Music: Okay, okay, okay. I cannot tell a lie, I have been absolutely obsessed with the Death Note soundtrack as of late. It’s clear to me that the show has become a major component of my life. I can’t decide what my favorites are from the OST because all of the songs are just so good!!! However, L’s Theme B, Misa’s Themes A, B, and C, Mello’s Theme C, and Near’s Theme A are definitely up there if I had to choose. I also love Matt’s Theme, even though he only gets one *cue the lonely tear roll*. Apart from that, I’ve been loving Studio Killers. They’re this really epic band with such a unique twist! My favorite from them has got to be Eros and Apollo. What dimes! I’ve also really been into Chocolate by the 1975, and Time of Dying by Three Days Grace. And Into You and Greedy, both by Ariana Grande, are just wow, I think. Check them all out, because, man, are they good! I’m pretty sure I’ve been into other songs, too, but I can’t for the life of me remember…oops!

Check ‘em out!:

I suppose I’ve remembered a few more!

Fashion: I’ve been into so many different kinds of clothes, lately. Like I said in my previous and first post under this topic, I’m an eclectic person with a variety of tastes and likes. However! I’ve been really into sundresses, (faux) leather, off-the-shoulder tops, and school-uniform-esque clothes lately. A lot of Liv Tyler inspired outfits have waltzed their way into my heart and mind, as well, and the Lana Del Rey/Lolita (from the movies) style has caught my eye, recently, as well. I’d be lying if I said that L’s, Misa’s, Mello’s, Matt’s, and Near’s styles haven’t influenced me, because to an extent, I think that they quite have! The previous school year, despite buying a whole lot of new clothes, I had mostly recycled many outfits throughout the year. This was mostly due to my not knowing what to wear, just wearing what was comfortable and appropriate for school, whatever was convenient, and having laundry day every weekend. This year, however, I really want to have a different look every week, and I want to experiment with my style a little more. Fingers crossed! I’ve already decided what I’m going to wear the first three weeks of school, and a failsafe/backup list for when I don’t know what to wear. I think I’m going to start posting OOTWs on here, and LookBooks, too, because why not? I could always use more content and content ideas, I think!

Food: I am not just a vegetarian, I am pretty sure I’m also a dulcetarian. That is to say, I’ve got a major sweet tooth. I’ve also been doing so well with my diet lifestyle (as I like to call it, since it isn’t a fad diet or temporary). I’ve been eating a lot of fruits and veggies (and egg, because it’s not meat, just a byproduct), drinking lots of tea and water, and just enjoying being vegetarian all in all. I haven’t had meat in 8 or so months. Wowza. But you can’t keep me away from chocolate or cake!

Books: I’ve come to accept ebooks and manga as books, as well. My goal at the beginning of summer seriously failed because I have not met my quota of 30 books. So sad! But, I did read quite a bit this summer! Recently I’ve been trying to read no matter how many distractions abound me, like I used to before 2011 when I found it getting harder and harder to concentrate on the words in front of me. I’m pretty sure that with determination I’ll be back on track! I read a manga called Tropic of the Sea by Satoshi Kon, which I absolutely adore. I just found it so endearing, and the cover artwork is so beautiful! I also really like the art of it altogether, though! I would definitely recommend it. I’ve also been reading quite a bit of fanfiction (only PG and G stuff, because yike!) and beautifully written short stories. Wattpad has been good to me. I’m also trying really hard to get a book—just one book, please!—written, edited, and published. *Dreamy sigh* Well…one day.

Shows and Movies: I haven’t watched too many movies this summer, but I’ve seen 4 different shows and I’m planning on getting into a couple of shows. The shows that I’ve seen have been Ao Haru Ride, Peach Girl, Kimi Ni Todoke, the first episode of Sherlock (which I want to get into!), and, of course, Death Note, as well as the first episode of the 2015 t.v. drama spinoff. I really want to get into Sherlock, Gossip Girl, Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars, Scream Queens, Shadowhunters, and Reign. That;s just the tip of the iceberg! I’m sure I’ll get into them and all the other shows that are on my list, eventually! Well, we’ll see! As for the movies, at the very beginning of the summer I watched the 2003 Peter Pan live action movie, When Marnie Was There, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and Kiki’s Delivery Service. Later on I watched the first movie of The Pirates of the Caribbean, Chronicles, In Time, Letters to Juliet, and Zootopia.  I also told my mom I’d watch The Cutting Edge, a movie she loves, and I’ll get to it, I’m sure! It’s been a great staycation!

I think I’ll always be constantly evolving and developing my interests, finding and creating new niches to nest in. I’d really like to hear about some of your interests! So please, feel free to tell me all about the things you guys like, and what type of people you are! Leave comments, feedbacks, requests, and ideas! Constructive criticism is also always appreciated! Till next time! Ciao!
